Kickboxing Classes in Reading
Technical striking for every level — from a first jab on the pads to sharp, high-tempo intermediate rounds.

The discipline
What kickboxing training involves
Kickboxing is the most accessible way into combat sports. Everything happens on your feet, the syllabus is clear, and you can use what you learn from the very first session.
Our programme runs from dedicated beginners classes through junior and teen sessions to an intermediate and advanced adults class on Monday evenings. The emphasis throughout is on clean mechanics: if the stance and the footwork are right, the power looks after itself.
What you'll learn
- Orthodox and southpaw stance, guard and balance
- Jab, cross, hook, uppercut and the footwork behind them
- Teep, roundhouse, switch kicks and knees
- Defence: parries, blocks, slips and head movement
- Combination building and pad-holding
- Ring craft, angles and controlling distance
- Conditioning through rounds rather than circuits

Beginner guidance
Start with Beginners Kickboxing on Tuesday at 20:30 or Saturday at 12:30. Both classes assume you've never trained, and both are free for your first visit.
The Monday 19:00 adults class is intermediate to advanced — it moves quickly and assumes you already know your stance and basic defence. Work through the beginners sessions first and the coach will tell you when you're ready.
Your first session is free — for adults and children alike. Message us and we'll book you in.

Questions
Kickboxing questions
Yes — two of them. Beginners Kickboxing runs on Tuesday at 20:30 and Saturday at 12:30, and both are built entirely for people with no striking background whatsoever. Everyone in the room is at roughly the same stage, which removes the intimidation of walking into a class where everybody already knows the drills. You'll cover stance, guard, basic punches and kicks, and simple pad work with a partner. Both sessions are free for your first visit, and there's no expectation that you continue afterwards.
